The Project Natal is now called the Kinect. About a dozen or so games will be available at launch. Some that have been announced or leaked so far are;

Kinectimals features over 20 different virtual pets, including lions, tigers, and cheetahs, to play with or raise.
Joyride a controller-free racing game which was shown last e3 just as a avatar racer game that disappeared from the xbox site about a month ago.
Kinect Sports will offer sport games to play: "boxing, bowling, beach volleyball, track and field, soccer and table tennis." For each one, you will make motions to play the games.
Kinect Adventures has a river raft and obstacle course to navigate.
Dance Central by MTV Games.
Star Wars game that will feature controllerless lightsaber dueling and motion-activated Force powers.
A new video chat program where gamers will be able to participate in face-to-face communication and even share photos(4 people at once where the vision was only 1 on 1). The program is entirely navigated through gestures.
Yoga/Tai Chi Game uses infrared and joint detection software. From Engadget "Positions were "checked" by points on the joint -- making it certainly harder to fake the moves on Wii Fit -- and it seemed to have a tai chi element to it. Your avatar glowed a more intense red based on your three-dimensional approximation -- bright red for hands stretched forward, for example."
Soccer Game

Some pics of the final hardware;

Right now seems like something I would pass on unless a big game like fable 3 uses it in a neat way. Will have to wait and see what comes out during the xbox briefing in the morning.

"WE HAVE THIS GREAT IDEA FOR A NEW TECHNOLOGY THAT RECOGNIZES PEOPLE AND THEIR MOVEMENTS! WHAT TYPE OF GAMES SHOULD WE USE IT FOR?"

"I KNOW! I KNOW! LETS USE IT TO MAKE THE SAME GAMES THAT CAME OUT ON THE WII THREE YEARS AGO!"

"YOU'RE A FUCKING GENIUS BOB."

From the games they showed today this is not geared at all towards hard core gamers. This is something you would buy for a little kid, girlfriend or wife(aka the Wii market). The games they did show look as good if not better then anything the Wii has right now. The only game that looked like something I might try was the forza and star wars game but still not something that would make me buy a kinect.

I guarantee this will fail.

I don't think it will fail but they need to have it priced at say $75 or less and include one game for free like they did with the Wii for it to take off.

Here are some videos of the games shown at the Xbox event;

Gametrailers site has been getting hit hard so the videos may not load.

Release date is November 4th. No official price yet but gamestop has it listed at $149.99.
I hope this is not the final price it is way to high to compete with the Wii.

After reading some stuff online about FPS games that use head tracking it is something that the Kinect should be able to do. It would add a new element to FPS games and would still allow you to use a controller.

Here is a video of the PC game ARMA 2 with head tracking.
TrackIR5 & ArmA2 Premiere (TrackIR 5)

Everyone remembers this video from 2007 that shows head tracking using Wii hardware and its now 2010 and we still don't have anything like it.

After reading some stuff about the Sony Move I think that the Kinect priced at $150 might be real. For $150 you get all the hardware to play with 4 people but with the move you would have to spend $180. The worst part about the move is that its all sold in pieces since even the $99 pack wont play half the games since you need 2 glowing ball controllers to play some of the games. That might be the big stopping point for the move where it hurts them come xmas, when kids get just the $50 controller by itself and is useless without the eye and 2nd move controller.

Not that I would buy a move or kinect I still think they are dumb and don't have any killer games for the hardcore gamers yet. Just wanted to point out now that the pricing info for move is out it looks like less of a deal then the rumored $150 kinect.

The Pricing is out, here are the different packs it will be available in;

Kinect and Kinect Adventures for $149.99 (U.S. ERP).

Kinect Holiday Bundle: Available later this year will, the bundle will contain: Xbox 360 4GB console, the Kinect sensor and Kinect Adventures packaged together for $299.99

The new Xbox 360 4GB Console same as the new slim but without a hard drive and still comes with Wi-Fi N. It comes with a 4GB of internal flash memory and a black matte finish(vs the glossy). Comes out Aug. 3rd for $199.99

Kinectimals, Kinect Sports and Kinect Joy Ride will retail for $49.99 (U.S. ERP) and are part of the 15 Kinect games that will be available at launch.

This still is not something I would buy until some better games come out but its nice to see that it will be cheaper in the long run then the PlayStation move. The PS move will cost around $180 for all the gear to play with 2 players in all the games.
