Civ 5 comes out Q4 2010 will feature a new combat system, hexagonal rather than square tiles, a new engine, and full-screen diplomacy. It will also contain community, modding and multiplayer elements.
This looks like the only PC game I will be getting in the foreseeable future. I know a few of us had lots of fun with Civ 4 so I would love to get some games of this going when it comes out.

will there be a 360 version sans the mod tools?  Civ Revolutions on the xbox was good times.

On the Civ 5 twitter they said it will be PC only. I think I might buy Civ Rev again now that you can just download it.

Yeah I wonder whats up with the facebook civ, checked the twitter account they were using for updates and the last msg was on Dec. 22nd.

Some more info; eighteen civilizations available from the start, Civilization V will also be the first incarnation of the series where the leaders speak their native tongue, So far only George Washington of America and Otto von Bismarck of Germany have been revealed as leaders, and adds the ability for siege weapons to bombard cities from more than one tile away.
