The children during this time period would play them for enjoyment (when they were not playing with their hoops and sticks). At the time these games could be purchased from such extinct business as "CompUSA", which dedicated entire sections of their stores to these "computered games". In the 19th century such games could be purchased a dozen for a buffalo nickel, or eight straw pennies (stra'penny), their value today being inflated due to collectors pursuing them and the diehard historical re-inactors who claim that playing these computer games is actually more fun than the high-tech console holographs we play today.
